"Collage Quilting" presented by Joan Cain
Saturday, October 12, 2019    --    9:00 am - 3:30 pm
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8760 37th Avenue, Kenosha

Come learn to collage quilt and make a sweet sewing machine wall hanging!  Remember the good old days when you were a five year old happily cutting up magazine images and pasting them on construction paper to make a masterpiece?  Do you remember how much fun it was?  Joan invites you to return to the good old days and cut and paste with abandon...but with fabric this time! You're going to have fun, enjoy the experience, and make a collage that is as unique as you are!  You'll be meeting "Fiona" the featherweight ...but you can turn her into anything you can dream! Your Fiona can be pink, or blue, or polka dotted! She can be old-fashioned or zippy!  Let your inner five year old free and let her decide.  But no running with scissors!

Bring your own bag lunch.  Water will be provided.

"Suns and Moons" presented by Jane Sassaman
Saturday, February 8, 2020    --    9:00 am - 3:30 pm
St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 8760 37th Avenue, Kenosha

The subject for our February workshop has changed from Simple Silhouettes to Suns and Moons. This is a good class for beginning machine appliquérs or quilters who want to make an easy, but dramatic small wall quilt for their home or as a gift. Suns and Moons is a machine appliqué workshop based on the circle motif. Using Jane’s appliqué techniques and experimenting with our decorative stitches, we will begin by making a series of colorful fabric discs which will then be arranged into a dramatic and contemporary composition.
