6603 3rd Avenue, Kenosha
Our quilt show is coming back to the beautiful Anderson Arts Center in September! Enjoy over 80 quilts made by our guild members. Since the quilters are the stars of this show, in addition to information about each quilt, you will learn a little bit about each quilt creator. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak firsthand with the quilters while seeing them in action. Visitors can also vote for their favorite quilt overall and for their favorite in this year’s Quilt Challenge “I'm a Star.” Winners of the viewers choice awards will be announced in early December and posted on our Facebook page.
Select quilts in our show will be available for purchase. Beautiful and unique items made by our members will also be available for purchase in the Anderson Arts Center gift shop and we will have some special items available for silent auction in the library. Our raffle quilt, wall hanging and table runner will be on display and our members will be happy to sell you raffle tickets! This is a show you don't want to miss!
Quilt Show Entry Requirements
-
Entry is open to Southport Quilters Guild members only.
-
Only quilts that have not been previously entered in our show may be entered. The exception is quilts entered in 2020 (show closed early due to COVID) and 2021 (virtual show due to COVID). Quilts entered in 2020 can not be judged if they were judged in 2020.
-
You can elect whether or not to have your quilt judged.
-
ALL quilts MUST have a hanging sleeve. The sleeve should be placed 2” from the TOP EDGE of the quilt and should be a continuous 2½“ wide sleeve across the back of the quilt. A slit will be made in the sleeve by the Arts Center to facilitate hanging. Quilts without a proper hanging sleeve meeting these specifications will NOT be accepted. Quilt Sleeve Tutorial.
-
Due to space limitations, if you enter multiple quilts, we cannot guarantee that all your quilts will be hung.
-
You may only enter one judged quilt per category.
-
Category is determined by the size of your quilt and how it was quilted. The size is based on the smallest side of the quilt. Large = 60" or larger; Medium = 36"- 59"; Small = 35" or less
-
If you are entering a quilt in our show for the first time, you may enter it in a category based on size and quilting method, or you can choose to enter it in Category 1, First Time Entrant.
Help us celebrate the opening of our show with a reception on Sunday, September 8. From 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. you can enjoy all the fabulous quilts on display in this historic home as well as live piano music, hors d'oeuvres and live demonstrations. We will have beautiful hand-crafted items available in the gift shop, special items available for silent auction bids and don't forget to buy tickets for our incredible raffle quilt.
